Home Leave Benchmark Survey Report

Determining, delivering, and updating Home Leave and R&R benefits

The results of AIRINC’s 2014 Home Leave and R&R Benchmark Survey capture how organizations determine, deliver, and update home leave and R&R benefits.

Home leave, sometimes called vacation or assignment leave, is the opportunity for expatriates to return home, or to an alternate location, during an international assignment. Home leave is one of the core benefits under most long term global mobility policies, but companies often struggle to find the most effective way to administer and update the home leave provision.

AIRINC has published the results of the 2014 Home Leave and R&R Benchmark Survey, capturing how organizations determine, deliver, and update home leave and rest and relaxation (R&R) benefits.

This comprehensive report addresses the frequency of home leave trips, how the benefit is calculated and delivered, how (or if) it is updated during the assignment, and the differences in home leave for accompanied versus split family assignments. There is also a section on R&R, including eligibility, frequency of trips, and delivery methods.

The survey results explore the challenges companies face in administering home leave, along with details about what is working well and whether companies are looking to make changes to home leave and R&R policies.
