AIRINC Launches a New Online Tool, the Local Plus Calculator

Cambridge, MA (USA) – May 12, 2011 – AIRINC (Associates for International Research, Inc.) has launched a new online global mobility tool, the Local Plus Calculator (LPC). This tool provides companies with a systematic and easy way to establish a local plus (also known as host plus) pay package that combines salary and customizable allowances, along with assessing tax implications, in just a few clicks.

AIRINC developed the LPC in response to increased market interest surrounding local plus packages.  In AIRINC’s 2011 Mobility Outlook Summary, a quarter of responding companies indicated that they have a formal host plus policy, and 21% indicated that they are looking to add a host plus policy in the coming year.  Companies with host plus programs indicated that approximately one third of their assignees are compensated under this type of policy. 

The LPC provides a simple solution to the previously burdensome task of calculating local plus pay for expatriates, removing one of the barriers that often made companies hesitate to implement such policies.
