Rent
& Utilities Guidelines
Appropriate housing is critical to the well-being of a relocating family. It is also one of the most costly and visible components of a compensation package. For both these reasons, it is a key success factor in any expatriate assignment.
AIRINC provides comprehensive data for host city rent and utilities expenditures throughout the world. Our staff interviews local realtors, relocation professionals, and market experts to assess rental conditions in neighborhoods preferred by expatriates and their families. In order to ensure equivalent accommodations across locations, we work closely with client companies to assign standards of housing at relevant salary ranges or job levels.
AIRINC offers expatriate rent and/or utilities guidelines in a wide variety of formats. Clients can obtain information for one transferee as part of an Individual Report or access data in tabular or chart form for multiple expatriates in a given host location. Rent and utilities guidelines can be expressed in relation to either job level and family size, or salary and family size.

For many locations, detailed Housing Reports describe neighborhoods, local housing stock, and the availability of recreational, educational, and shopping opportunities. These comprehensive reports include a Housing Grid that provides a snapshot of the housing available in the surveyed city. Housing Grids may also be obtained independently.
