Small Number of assignees and growing

Giving increasing numbers of assignees individually negotiated deals at various stages in the assignment life-cycle.

“I have five assignees on my team.  Each one is on a different deal, and they’ve been comparing their packages.  I’m in the process of initiating a new assignment and it’s impossible to put together a package because the existing ones are so inconsistent.  Not only that, there is no logical method for updating the packages when salaries change.  This is difficult to manage; we need to come up with a policy that makes sense.”

Companies often follow a similar pattern as international business activities grow and expand.  The first few assignments may be based on individual deals, but the inconsistency eventually becomes unmanageable, difficult to explain to assignees, and a constraint on meeting business objectives.
